Founding Partner

Gerald W. Blakeley, Jr. was a founding partner of Blakeley Properties. He was the President of Blakeley Investment Company, which he founded in 1982. He was on the board of The Forge Company, which owns Colonial Parking in Washington, D.C.; on the board of overseers of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy; and on the MIT Center for Real Estate Advisory Board. Mr. Blakeley was also Director, previously Chairman, of the Coast Guard Foundation, and an Honorary Trustee of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. He was a Life Member of the National Board of Governors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and a Member of the Board of Trustees of the U.S. China Future Leaders Program.

Mr. Blakeley was formerly Chairman, CEO and principal stockholder of Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Company and Chairman and Director of the CC&F Land Trust. He was also a former Director of CIGNA and President and owner of the Ritz-Carlton Corporation for 28 years.

Mr. Blakeley served as an officer in the United States Navy and earned his B.A. from Bowdoin College. Among his many affiliations, he was Trustee of the New England Aquarium Corporation and was former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Morehouse School of Medicine.
